Chignon Interiors is a Calgary-based interior design and project delivery studio creating beautifully curated spaces tailored to the way our clients live.
Born from more than a decade of experience through our parent concierge firm, our approach brings together interior design, decorating, renovations, curated furnishings, international sourcing, installation, settling in services and the detailed turn-key execution required to take a project from vision to completion.
Our aesthetic has a natural affinity for the timeless elegance, craftsmanship, layered character and charm of European interiors; however, Chignon is not defined by a single design style. From traditionally elegant residences, to contemporary and transitional interiors, through to maximalist, brutalist and individually expressed designs, every project begins with the client – their home, their lifestyle and, most importantly, how they want their space to feel.
As a firm and a team, our passion for design and renovation is poured into every project to ensure each home is an individual as the people that live in it.

Melanie Brown
Founder & Principal
With more than a decade of experience in luxury residential services, concierge, renovation and project turn-key execution, Melanie Brown brings a distinctive combination of creative vision, practical experience and highly personalized service to Chignon Interiors.
As the founder of Calgary Home Watch & Concierge Inc, years spent working within hundreds of clients’ homes have given Melanie an intimate understanding of how a residence needs to function for everyday life-not simply how it looks. From design, managing residential projects, renovations, full relocation services, to coordinating furnishings, trades, installations and the countless details involved in preparing a home to be completely turn-key ready, Melanie developed an approach to design grounded equally in beauty, functionality and execution.
Having travelled extensively and spent considerable time in Paris and throughout the surrounding regions of France, Melanie developed a particular appreciation and passion for the timeless elegance, craftsmanship and layered character of European interiors. Yet her philosophy is not defined by a singular aesthetic. She believes successful design begins with understanding the client-their individual style, the way they live and, importantly, how they want their home to feel and how one feels within it.
As Founder and Creative Director of Chignon Interiors, Melanie leads the creative vision of the firm while remaining closely involved throughout the client experience. Her approach is thoughtful and highly detailed, bringing together design, renovation, curated furnishings and turn-key execution to create homes that feel both beautifully considered and genuinely personal.
For Melanie, the most successful interiors are not simply visually beautiful to look at. They feel beautiful to live in.
Juliette Young
Co-Founder & Design Associate
Juliette’s love for interiors began long before she understood design professionally.
As a teenager, her bedroom became a world of its own-layered with tapestries, textiles, rich in colours, artwork and collected treasures that transformed it into a place of comfort and imagination. Looking back, she recognizes that she was designing long before she understood it as a profession, creating a space that felt unmistakably her own.
At Chignon Interiors, Juliette balances timeless elegance and thoughtful design with her own creative roots in expression, authenticity and storytelling. She is drawn to interiors that feel collected rather than staged-spaces, that are layered with personality, meaning and a sense of the people who live within them.
Inspired by the individuality of each client, Juliette believes a home should feel beautiful not because it is perfect, but because it feels deeply personal.
While she enjoys exploring a wide variety of design styles, Juliette has a natural affinity for maximalism, urban chic and Japanese interiors. These aesthetics continue to inspire her work and have become areas in which she feels particularly at home creatively. Regardless of the aesthetic, she approaches every project with the same goal: to create a home that feels authentic to the people who live there.
River Odishaw
Project Manager for Renovations & New Builds
River Odishaw is a builder at heart – someone who grew up drawn to shaping spaces and improving the way people live in them. With 14 years in the renovation world, River has overseen more than eighty renovation projects, from kitchen remodels to full basement developments and high-end primary suite designs. Known for blending technical skill with clear communication, he approaches every project with a focus on precision, durability, and an intuitive understanding of client needs.
In addition to his role with Chignon Interiors, River leads an established Calgary renovation company with combined experience, specializing in full-service renovations and home improvements. His hands-on experience managing projects from initial planning through construction and completion brings Chignon clients an important continuity between design vision and on-site execution. River and his team work in tandem with Melanie and the Chignon team, bringing together strong design, practical renovation expertise, quality supplier relationships and cohesive execution of structural and interior renovation projects.
At the centre of River’s work is an ethos grounded in curiosity, integrity, and meaningful craftsmanship. He believes every build carries a responsibility: to elevate quality of life, cultivate trust, and leave behind something solid – both structurally and ethically.
Outside of renovations, River is also deeply passionate about music – a creative outlet that shapes the way he listens, collaborates, and creates.
Yannick Chevallier
Project Manager for International Furnishings Procurement & Logistics
Born and raised in France, Yannick developed an appreciation for distinctive furnishings, craftsmanship and decorative pieces with character from an early age. During his youth, he worked within the French antique trade, selling at traditional markets and gaining first-hand exposure to fine European furniture, decorative pieces and the enduring appeal of beautifully made furnishings and objects.
Prior to Chignon Interiors, Yannick owned and managed a successful retail franchise specializing in distinctive high-quality baby furnishings and goods. Through the business, he developed extensive practical experience in international procurement, supplier relationships, importing, distribution and the logistics required to bring unique furnishings successfully to Calgary.
His subsequent experience with Calgary Home Watch & Concierge further broadened that expertise into residential concierge and white-glove service, including coordination, delivery and careful installation of furnishings within clients’ homes.
At Chignon Interiors, Yannick brings this experience to the sourcing and procurement of furnishings from across Canada and around the world, helping ensure a seamless journey from supplier to final placement in the client’s home. His understanding of fine-quality goods, international procurement and hands-on project execution is particularly valuable to Chignon’s growing global sourcing capabilities.
For Yannick, the experience is not complete when beautiful pieces are selected for the design-it is complete when the pieces have arrived, been carefully inspected and thoughtfully placed, coming together with the work of the entire Chignon team to ensure the house feels like home.
